Okay, maybe I won't start on that. I did, and not to mention received, a lot of things; well, not all on the day, though- but after my frustrations over not being able to see the mermaid, finally got what I wanted :)
Last Wednesday, almost a week ago, after getting the usual studying done for the day, I finally made the effort to be there in time for the mermaid showing at the Ceredigion Museum. It turned out that the 'mermaid' was actually a woman dressed up as a mermaid posing for people to draw her in front of the theatre. I had thought I wanted to just take a photograph of her but as I was waiting I thought I might as well make draw some sketches - after all, I haven't done that in a while. She appeared in a tank (without water, of course), starting from slumber to movements of despair, looking out into a world where people move free. At the beginning I took a trip down memory lane, to a place and time not so far away when I did my last performance. *sigh*
So maybe I shouldn't say I got myself a mermaid, because I didn't. But I'd like to believe I did. I was happy that I got to see the mermaid *smiles*, even if it was plainly a woman wearing a mermaid costume. After that I walked up the hill to the School of Art to pick up the two packages I was expecting- only to find that one of them was not there. I contacted the people concerned and despite me telling them twice that I wanted it sent to my school instead of my home address, they still sent it out to my flat. Why is it so difficult, sometimes, for people to follow directions?? And as I was letting my frustrations out to the poor girl on the phone, I received another call, luckily from the delivery man- saying he will be in town for a few hours and that I could meet up with him to pick up my package, which was..
A Sexy LG KF750 Secret Phone!
Ooh yea baby!
Then on Friday, after spending the Thursday just getting some work done, I left my flat at 6.30pm to the railway station to catch the 7.27am train to Cwmbran - to meet my handsome Shugo Tenshi. During the weekend, we watched Eagle Eye, Strange Wilderness and Teeth. Strange combination of movies, yes. I thought Eagle Eye was good, Strange Wilderness, not so and Teeth... it might, and I quote someone, put you off sex for a while. Scary, disgusting and funny it was, that's my opinion.
Presents? Well... I received a box of chocolates from Naomi, another box from Jay's dad and my Darling got me a cute pair of headphones! Hehe... That's one item crossed from my Wishlist! I got a call from Mama, but I couldn't pick it up and she never rang back. Oh well... that's okay. They can call me anytime. We didn't celebrate my birthday because I had refused to do so, but I had a great time anyway. Despite the little things that put me down lately, I was happy when I turned 22, because I finally had someone that I love next to me.
That meant a lot.
That night, I took the 7.58pm train back to Aberystwyth. It didn't feel that long a journey, though, most probably because I distracted myself with work, work and more work. Even today, I am finding myself swamped with more assignments. I know I shouldn't complain though, I signed up for all of this- and at least it's something I like.
I received another two presents today, one from myself, and one from Emma- YAY! I like Emma's gift, but I am a little skeptical about my own gift. I bought a cheap mp4 player from eBay by accident. Well, okay, I didn't think I was going to win the bid, I mean, come on, 8gb for GBP 15?? But I did... and it's here. It's alright. I can't connect my new headphones to it though, which kind of sucks, but I'll just get an adapter for it. Apart from that it also looks cheesy- well, the exterior is sexy, but the screen is so... 90's! Haha, oh well, we can't have the best of both worlds I suppose.
Thank you Emma, thank you my Darling, Jay; Naomi and Michael for the presents. Jay's family for letting me stay for the weekend and thank you to everyone who greeted me a Happy Birthday on Facebook. I'm happy to know that a lot of people care about me, even if I am far away, in a small town called Aber.
